Description: This Algebra 2 class covers the following topics:

  • Expressions, Operations, and Polynomials
  • Linear, Quadratic, Polynomial, and Rational Equations and Inequalities
  • Linear, Quadratic, Polynomial, and Rational Functions
  • Systems of Equations and Inequalities
  • Word Problems
  • Radicals and exponents
  • Complex Numbers
  • Trigonometry
  • Conic Sections
  • Logarithms

Three to four lessons will be presented each week, and the student will be expected to complete and correct each week's assignments, with questions answered at the next class.  Assignment notes, help videos, and other supplemental resources will be available online for all students on the CHAT math website.

Note: This class does not include statistics.  There is an online statistics unit available at the end of the school year and should be registered for separately in the spring.  See the Class List for more information.

Distance Learning Option:  This class may be available to students wishing to  join the live class at its regularly scheduled time using the Zoom link provided by the tutor.  Students should contact the tutor for permission before registering through the online registration form.

Tutor: Kim Nelson graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Mathematics from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. She holds a current Minnesota teaching license in secondary mathematics.  Mrs. Nelson taught math at Henry Sibley High School is West St. Paul for 6 years before starting her family.  She homeschooled all 4 of her children (now all in college or beyond), and has taught everything from Pre-K to Calculus. She is the co-founder of CHAT and has been teaching math classes at CHAT since it began in 2004.

Cost:  $210, $220, or $230 per semester (depending on registration date)
