Intro to Computer Programming and Web Design

Description: This class will introduce students to Computer Programming and Web Design. Students will learn the major differences between computer operating systems and the history behind them. Students will also learn about internet safety and privacy and why that is important today. Students will learn about office applications and their general uses, some best practices and tips on how to interact with them on different platforms and become proficient at using them.  Students will also be introduced to foundations and fundamentals of web design and computer programming. 

Tutor: Sam Adjei was born and raised in Ghana. When he came to the U.S. he joined the Army and served for 8 years while attending college with the University of Maryland University College. He has been working for UnitedHealth Group since 2007 and is currently a Senior Systems Management Analyst. He is married to Nana Ama and they have 4 kids - Siona, Anica, Josiah and Jediah.

Cost:  $210 per semester

Supplies:  A laptop computer (Windows laptop with Windows OS 8.1+  or  Mac with OS 10+  or  Google Chromebook. Laptop should be able to access the internet.)
