Tutor: Anna Bochnicek
Email: ana.bochnicek@CHATclasses.com
Length: Full year or by semester Class Period: Wednesday, period 2

Description: Creative writing stands apart from standard academic writing; therefore, unique skillsets and techniques are required. In this class, students will learn to write genres such as fiction, autobiography, and poetry, improving their skills through the use of literary devices and close critique from their peers and tutor. We will also explore authors and written works in each genre covered, both from the past and present. Students can expect at least one project per genre and 3-5 journal entries a week.

Note:  This class can be taken as a year long course, or as two separate semester classes.

Tutor: Ana Bochnicek graduated from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul with a B.S. in English and a Writing concentration. There, she worked as a head editor on the school's literary magazine, Inkstone, as well as a copyeditor at Ascendex Consulting and the James Fenimore Cooper Society. She loves all forms of creative writing and is working toward poetry publication. She believes writing reflects core attributes of the human experience such as authenticity, beauty, and artistic expression and finds joy in sharing these experiences with others. Outside of writing, she enjoys crocheting, listening to music, and working with kids.
