Length: Full Year Class Period: Thursday, period 2 (9:45 - 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 - 2:00)  This is a full day class.

Description:  This class will incorporate activities in language arts, art, science, social studies, math, and Bible in a fun and engaging environment. There will be opportunities to work collaboratively with group activities as well as individually. One primary group collaborative will include Readers Theater performance(s). This is a great opportunity to build friendships while discovering new things about God, His world, and their role in it.

Snacks, Lunch, and Water Bottles:  Children can bring a water bottle and a simple, healthy snack. Apple slices, a banana, or cut vegetables are great options. Students will also need to bring a sack lunch and will be supervised during their lunch period.  

Important note: This is a full day class, which is reflected in the tuition amount listed on the registration form. There is a $5 lunch fee included in the price of the class to cover the cost of having a designated lunch monitor. 

Tutor: Christina Sluka, with her husband, David, educated their four children at home for over 10 years. She has a M.A. in curriculum and instruction from the University of St. Thomas including a K-6 elementary teaching license. Their family has served as missionaries in the metro area and overseas. Her desire is for children to encounter the love of God and know who they are in Christ so they can advance the kingdom of God wherever He leads them.

Cost:  $560, $570, $580 per semester (depending on registration date)

Prerequisite:  First grade skills. Contact tutor if you have any concerns.
HomeworkPrepare one topic to share with classmates per semester, practice readers theater script, Bible memory and writing (all are optional).
Textbook:  A learning journal will be provided for each student.
Supplies:  The price of the class (above) covers most of the supplies for projects. Students need to bring a pencil box including 2 sharp pencils, a set of colored pencils, glue stick, and scissors.
