Length: Full Year Class Period: Thursday, period 3 (2:00 - 2:45 p.m.)

Description:   Students will become “tuneful, beatful, and artful” through singing and preparing music for a Christmas program and Spring Concert, playing a variety of instruments, learning about composers through movement, and understanding audience etiquette by listening to songtale stories.

Students will be invited to perform with their class for the Christmas program and spring showcase.

Vocal coach/director: Abbie Stewart has a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from North Central University with a double minor in Business Administration and Christian Studies. She has been singing for as long as she can remember, has played the flute since 4th grade, and has been involved in auditioned choirs in high school, college, and beyond. A memorable moment in her musical journey was when she learned to harmonize with her sisters at age 12 during a family mission trip in Tanzania. She has a passion for seeing students fall in love with music at a young age like she did and experience “light-bulb” moments. In her free time, she enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, songwriting, and serving on the worship team at church alongside her husband, Thomas.
