Tutor: Christina Sluka
|Length: Full Year||Class Period: Thursday, eCHAT Period 6 (1:45 - 2:45 p.m.)|
Description: This class will be split into two periods. Half will cover beginning music theory using musical instruments along with their bodies and voice. Students will also learn about a composer each semester and identify the sound of different instruments used in an orchestra throughout the year. The other half of the class time, for most of the semester, students will explore communicating in Spanish through singing songs, playing games, and dialoguing with classmates. However, we will use the final weeks preceding the end of the semester to focus only on music. Students will practice songs for their music performance. If your child will not be able to attend the performance, or if they are not given an instrument to play in the performance, then they will be provided Spanish or music worksheets to do in class while the others practice.
Students may be invited to play instruments along with their class for the Christmas program and spring showcase
The Christmas Celebration date is Thursday, December 17, 2020. (Alternate date is Thursday, December 10.) The Spring Showcase is Thursday, May 13, 2021.
