Tutor: Christina Sluka
|Length: Full Year||Class Period: Thursday, 9:45 - 11:30 a.m. or 12:00 - 2:30 (Choose one.)|
Description: This class explores classic literature and looks at character qualities, the elements of a story, vocabulary, literary devices the author used, and elements of design in the illustrations. Students will also learn geography and science concepts connected to each story and record what they learn in their journal. Some activities will require classmates to share and collaborate with one another. Each child will also memorize and pray a weekly Bible verse and prepare one topic to share with the class per semester. After Thanksgiving, the students will primarily use class time to prepare songs for the Christmas program. The afternoon section will also include physical activity in the gym. This is a great opportunity to build friendships while discovering new things about God, His world, and their role in it.
Snacks and Water Bottles: Children in both sections can bring a water bottle and a simple, healthy snack. Apple slices, a banana, or cut vegetables are great options.
Important note: The same class is being offered in the morning and afternoon each week. Students should sign up for only one of the classes. The afternoon class includes gym class, so the tuition listed on the registration form includes both the EEE and gym tuition. For the morning class, the gym class will be registered separately. The total cost for EEE+gym is the same for both the mornings and the afternoons.
The Christmas Celebration date is Thursday, December 13, 2018. The Spring Showcase is Thursday, May 9, 2019.
Class Visits:There are two class days during the year when parents of prospective students can observe the class. The first is the week before Thanksgiving (Nov. 15th), and the other is the week after the spring open house. Please contact Laura Johnson if you would like to visit.
