Description: This Geometry class will cover the basic elements of geometry such as lines, planes, space, and angle measures. It will also include the topics of congruence and similarity, triangles and quadrilaterals, circles, area, volume, space, transformations and symmetry. The student will learn to construct proofs based on a postulate system and to do basic constructions. Four to five lessons will be presented each week, and the student will be expected to complete and correct each week's assignments, with questions answered at the next class. Assignment notes, help videos, and other supplemental resources will be available online for all students on the CHAT math website. Scheduling note: There is the possibility that the tutor may be absent a week in the spring. There will either be a substitute teacher, the tutor will record the lesson as a video and hold extended office hours upon her return, or the final exams will be taken on the make-up day. Please note: If you have a scheduling conflict with Geometry, consider taking Algebra 2 instead and take Geometry the following year. Questions? Contact Mrs. Nelson.
