Description: The Kindergarten class will be filled with fun hands-on activities and projects to develop a love of learning. Students will participate in phonics lessons, beginning math games and activities, art projects and a few science experiments. Prayer and Bible stories will be incorporated into our class time. The goal of our class will be to work on listening skills, cooperation, making new friends, and experiencing the joys of learning new things together.
Covid - 19 Contingency Plan - In the event that we are forced to transition to online classes at any point in the school year, parents will be able to continue online with this class divided into 2 shortened periods on 2 separate days or receive a refund for classes held online. If we have to cancel in-person classes for an isolated week due to Covid exposure, this class will meet online unless the tutor decides otherwise.
Tutor: Lisa Berscheid has two B.A.'s in Psychology and in Bible from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul. She has been homeschooling her three children for 16 years. Lisa has also taught math and hands-on science classes in her home for homeschoolers of all ages. She is currently tutoring students with dyslexia using the Barton Reading System, an Orton-Gillingham program designed to help students learn to read with ease. In her free time, Lisa enjoys crocheting, gardening, cooking for her family, and catering special events
