Description:  Fall semester we will explore the anatomy and physiology of the human body with Apologia. Spring semester we will explore chemistry with Real Science 4 Kids, Newton's Laws with Backyard Ballistics, and encourage thinking skills with the Critical Thinking Co. Since children learn best by doing, around half of the class time each week will incorporate hands-on experiments and activities such as making a model of a cell with Jello and various candies, dissecting a sheep heart, and launching a water rocket. Some weeks will require going outside.

Tutor: Laura Kirkwold has a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Minnesota College of Biological Sciences. After graduation she worked in the research lab at the University of Minnesota Dental School. She has one graduated and working young adult, 2 students in college, and one student in high school.
