Description: This course will follow the development of human civilization from the beginning of recorded history to the arrival of Columbus in the Americas (1st semester) and from Columbus to the present (2nd semester). Through fun activities and projects, students will learn the basic patterns of human history, and be familiar with significant people, events, locations, and themes throughout the period studied.

Note:  This class, along with the Jr. High Cultural Geography class, complete the Social Studies track for middle school.

Tutor: Sarah Nelson graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, with a B.A. in History and Art History, and also studied at De Medici Institute in Florence, Italy.  As a homeschool graduate Sarah brings a unique perspective to the CHAT classroom.  She is currently working as a dance acrobatics instructor with students of all ages and abilites.  In her free time Sarah enjoys drawing, painting, reading, and camping.
