Description: This course will follow the development of human civilization from the beginning of recorded history to the arrival of Columbus in the Americas (1st semester) and from Columbus to the present (2nd semester). Through fun activities and projects, students will learn the basic patterns of human history, and be familiar with significant people, events, locations, and themes throughout the period studied.
Note: This class, along with the Jr. High Cultural Geography class, completes the Social Studies track for middle school.
Covid - 19 Contingency Plan - In the event that we are forced to transition to online classes at any point in the school year, this class will continue to be held.
Tutor: Sarah Nelson graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, with a B.A. in History and Art History, and also studied at De Medici Institute in Florence, Italy. As a homeschool graduate Sarah brings a unique perspective to the CHAT classroom. She is currently working as a dance acrobatics instructor with students of all ages and abilities. In her free time Sarah enjoys drawing, painting, reading, and camping.
