Dear Parents,

Two quick reminders --
  • All CHAT parents and students need to use Door 2.  Door 1 is for the church staff and their people.
  • It is going to be a warm week.  Please review the dress code with your student if you feel it is necessary. Find it HERE on pages 3-4.

This is what you will find in this email:

1. IDs this week
2. CHAT yearbook info (grades 7-12)
3. Invite to Park Day this Wednesday
4. Fort Snelling Field Trip planned

1. IDs are made and will be set out this week for students to pick. They will be required to show theirs when entering the building from now on.  If your student wants a lanyard, we have CHAT ones for sale ($5) and plain blue ones ($1).  If they want their ID punched with a hole, we can help with that as well at Door 2.

2. We are creating a Yearbook Club this year for students in 7th-12th grade.  If your student is interested in either design or taking pictures, please contact Tina tinaculbertson@gmail.com.

3. PARK DAY THIS WEDNESDAY
It's going to be another summer-like day this Wednesday, September 11.  My boys, ages 10 and 8, and I will be heading to Bryant Lake Park after the morning classes at CHAT.  We'd love to have other CHAT friends join us.  There is a playground, sand volleyball, paved walking paths, and beach.  Pack a lunch or snacks and join us.  We'll be there from 12 PM - 2:30 PM. (from Chloe Hilden)

4. FORT SNELLING FIELD TRIP - OCTOBER 4
Join us for a field trip to historic Fort Snelling on Friday, October 4th from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM.  Cost is $8 per person.  Registration is due by THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19.  RSVP to Chloe Hilden: cdhilden@gmail.com.

This 2 hour field trip gives you the opportunity to create your own unique site experience. It includes so many places to learn about the many stories that Historic Fort Snelling has to share.  There are staffed and teacher-led stations inside the historic fort as well as self-guided activities on the restored prairie and inside our Visitor Center.  A "passport" and map will offer directions to experience those places that you would like to include. There is space outside for lunch such as the picnic area or indoor space as available.  Dress for the weather!  While we have porches at the historic fort and many indoor learning spaces, we are an outdoor site and there will be walking outdoors.  Wear shoes suitable for walking outdoors.

That's it for now.  Blessings.

Laura
