Entrepreneurship: From Idea to Impact

Description: Ever wondered what it takes to turn a great idea into a thriving business? This course takes students on a hands-on journey through the world of entrepreneurship. From discovering problems worth solving to pitching a polished business idea, students will explore every step of building a venture.

Through interactive activities, creative brainstorming, and real-world guest speakers, students will learn to:

  • Identify opportunities and generate innovative solutions
  • Validate ideas through research, customer discovery, and feedback
  • Build business models, create a brand, and design marketing strategies
  • Understand financial fundamentals, including pricing, revenue, and costs
  • Develop a prototype or service and refine it through testing
    Craft and deliver a professional pitch to real-world judges

By the end of the course, students will not only have a fully developed business idea but also hands-on experience in pitching, problem-solving, and thinking like an entrepreneur—skills that are valuable for school, careers, and life. This course is perfect for students who are curious, creative, and ready to turn ideas into impact.

Tutor: Erin Johnson studied Studio Art at Bethel College and later attended YWAM in Colorado. Over the years, she built a thriving photography business, leading a team of photographers, earning multiple awards, and being featured in numerous publications. Her work has taken her across the U.S. and internationally, including Mexico and Europe, capturing weddings and meaningful life moments. In addition to her photography career, Erin runs two other businesses and is involved in her husband’s residential remodeling company. She married her husband in 2000, and together they have three daughters. She loves traveling, painting and hiking (especially in Arizona). As a teacher, Ms. Johnson brings a relaxed, open-minded, and hands-on approach to the classroom. She loves helping students discover their creativity, strengths, and future paths.
